Title:-The Study of Dhatriloha in parinamshoola ( Pain in abdomen )
Dr.
Kranti Anarase had submitted her dissertation to Pune University
in 2000 for the P.G. degree M.D. (Kaya Chikitsa). Her guide was Prof. Dr. S. P.
Sardeshmukh & Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune (M.S.) India .
Dr.
Kranti Anarase in her research work tried to study the effect of Dhatriloha in parinamshoola
(Pain in abdomen).
For this study she had enrolled 52
patients which are divided into two groups.
Group I – 45 patients treated with
dhatriloha.
Group II – 7 patients treated with
famotidine ( Antacid) 20 mg
Dhatriloha is administered 1 gm twice
a day with 10 gm ghee & 5 gm honey for one month.
Criteria for assessment was as follows –
i)
Severity of shoola – Grade IV – unbearable pain, pain
after every meal, relief with medicine only, can not carry out day to day
activities.
ii)
Grade
III – Severe pain , patient on bed occasional use of medicines
iii)
Madhyam
shoola– Grade II – Pain in abdomen but can carry out routine work.
iv)
Alpa
Shoola - Grade I – Occasional pain that is too slight only if frequent hetu sevan
is done.
v)
Abhav
– Grade 0 – Absence of pain.
Above research was concluded as follows –
Dhatriloha when administered 1 gm
twice a day with 10 gm ghee & 5 gm honey for one month was found effective
in Pain in abdomen due to reasons like Hyperacidity,Duodenal ulcer .Also
Dhatriloha do not cause side effects like modern Antacids
I)
The
drug is more effective in vatapittaj parinamshoola.
II)
Unlike
tab famotidine, the drug does not give rise to any side effect like
constipation ,diarrhoea etc.
III)
Dhatriloha
is found to be more effective mainly on annavaha, Rasavaha, Raktavaha Srotasa.
IV)
Dhatriloha
also acts as ‘Rasayan’.
